Meet Melissa Scholl, PT, DPT
Helping people feel strong, comfortable, and confident again.
For nearly 20 years, Melissa has helped people move better, recover from injury and return to the activities that matter most to them. Throughout her career, she has been drawn to helping individuals who feel frustrated, unheard, or unsure where to turn next.
Pelvic floor symptoms can impact nearly every part of daily life. Bladder leakage, pelvic pain, bowel concerns, pregnancy-related discomfort, postpartum recovery, and pain with intimacy are often deeply personal challenges that many people struggle with silently.
Melissa founded The Healthy Pelvis to provide thoughtful, one-on-one pelvic floor physical therapy in a comfortable and supportive environment. Her goal is to help patients better understand their bodies, feel confident in their treatment plan, and achieve meaningful, lasting improvements in their quality of life.
Serving Elmhurst and surrounding communities including Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Lombard, Downers Grove, Clarendon Hills, Glen Ellyn, and Villa Park.
Melissa’s Approach to Care
Every person’s experience is unique. Melissa believes successful treatment begins with listening, understanding your concerns, and creating a plan that feels right for you.
Her approach combines evidence-based treatment, education, movement, hands-on techniques when appropriate, and practical strategies that fit into everyday life.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, Melissa looks at the whole person to better understand the factors that may be contributing to pain, discomfort, bladder or bowel symptoms, pregnancy-related concerns, or postpartum recovery challenges.
Above all, Melissa strives to create an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, discussing sensitive concerns, and actively participating in their care.
Why Pelvic Health?
Melissa has always been passionate about helping people improve their quality of life through movement, education, and personalized care. Over time, she discovered a special interest in pelvic health because of the significant impact these symptoms can have on daily life.
Many pelvic floor conditions are common, yet they are rarely discussed openly. People often spend months or even years struggling with symptoms before learning that treatment options are available.
Melissa believes that everyone deserves access to compassionate care, clear answers, and a treatment plan that helps them feel more comfortable and confident in their body.
Helping patients overcome challenges such as bladder leakage, pelvic pain, bowel dysfunction, pregnancy-related discomfort, postpartum recovery concerns, and pain with intimacy is what inspired her to create The Healthy Pelvis.
Experience & Specialized Training
Melissa has nearly 20 years of experience as a physical therapist and has worked with individuals across a variety of settings throughout her career. Her experience has provided a strong foundation for helping patients navigate complex conditions and return to the activities that matter most to them.
She has completed advanced training in pelvic floor physical therapy and continues to pursue ongoing education in the evaluation and treatment of bladder dysfunction, bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pregnancy-related conditions, postpartum recovery, and pain with intimacy.
Melissa combines evidence-based treatment with individualized care, helping patients better understand their symptoms and feel confident throughout the recovery process. Every treatment plan is tailored to the unique needs, goals, and comfort level of each patient.
As the founder of The Healthy Pelvis, Melissa is committed to providing one-on-one care that prioritizes education, collaboration, and meaningful results. Her goal is to help patients feel supported every step of the way.
Beyond the Clinic
When she is not working with patients, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, staying active, and being involved in the local community.
As a wife, mother, and business owner, she understands the challenges of balancing health, family, work, and everyday responsibilities. This perspective helps her create realistic treatment plans that fit into busy lives.
Melissa believes that movement, education, and small consistent changes can have a meaningful impact on overall health and well-being. She enjoys helping patients build confidence and return to the activities they enjoy most.
At home, she also enjoys spending time with Max, the family’s Labradoodle, who is often nearby as she plans new ways to support patients through The Healthy Pelvis.
